That's awesome, thank you so much!!! I'll go watch this let's play--and if you play my others, I'll be looking forward to those as well! I love your thumbnail design by the way, that's a really cool combination >:)
I love this game series, and I really love your art style. I can't wait to see more of Thornhart's adventures.
My favorite bit was the room with all the trash, the story of how much authors pour themselves into their work was really touching. I really loved that, and I can always see how much love you pour into yours. Looking forward to seeing more of your work! <3
Thank you very much for the kind words, I'm honored! I love it when players work hard to explore everything and uncover all the secrets, so good job finding the abandoned house and the note-and I'm thrilled you like it! I had fun writing it and leaning into the sort of obsessive side of creativity, and I think having places like that for things that would otherwise never make an appearance in the main story make the world feel more alive. I'm also glad to hear you're enjoying Thornhart's adventures-the next one's coming later this October! Hope to see you there ;)
Aww, thanks! I don't have one yet but one day I want to, I'd order from my own store just to get a shirt of him as well XDDD I appreciate it though, and in the meantime, you're welcome to hang around my discord or twitter if you want! You can find the links on my main itch page.
The experience is amazing, i like how each other games are connected. I am also amazed by the name cuz it makes no senseat first, but after finishing the game i must admit it is the best possible name for the game. I am really excited for another sequel!!!
Thank you very much, I'm so glad you're invested in the story! And haha thanks, I tried to really set it apart-and by the time you're near the end and have forgotten all about it, the title drop makes the scene hit harder! I really appreciate the time you took to play my games and leave a kind comment, and I'm glad you're looking forward to the next one--I am too!
This horror series is absolutely AMAZING! I love what you've created and I'm hoping this story continues on, I just played through all 3 games in one sitting, and I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for a new one to come out hopefully in the future :) Do you have plans on continuing this story? Much love <3
Wow thank you so much, I'm so thrilled you love it!!! I'm glad you played all three and are invested in the overarching story, I've been planning and writing for it for a long time. Jesse's story is really important to me and I love having more people in on the fun XD Rest assured it's only the beginning-and in fact, you have great timing because I'm almost finished with the fourth game!
I played all three of your games (actually I haven’t finished this one just yet but I’m going to!) and I gotta say I enjoy them so much, love the unsettling atmospheres of them all but there’s one thing; I had no idea there were easter eggs until I started reading other people’s comments .-. I’m very bad at finding those XD
Anyway, when I saw that well in this game I was like “WAHH CONTINUITY!!!” which is funny because I already knew there was continuity, but something about the well just did it for me?
Also the fact that you can actually die in this one has me very scared and second guessing all of my actions (like I just walked over the poisonous flowers and now I almost feel like I should start over just in case XD)
I’m going to go back to playing this game now, but I already can’t wait for the next one! (When’s it coming out, around Halloween?)
Edit: As an afterthought I wanted to add that apart from the atmosphere, one of my favorite things about these games is how you're actually encouraged to look around at everything. I tend to explore things when I play games but sometimes it ends up feeling like a waste in the end, which I'm glad wasn't the case here since I felt like I was playing the game the "right" way in doing so. Still don't know how I didn't find the easter eggs though XD
Edit: Finished playing the game! Are we gonna get an explanation of that ending in the next one???
Thank you so much for such a detailed comment, I appreciate the time and care that went into it! And no worries, the easter eggs were hidden very well on purpose-most people never find them on their own so you're not alone! I can give you a hint if you want :)
And I know what you mean about the continuity, I got the same feeling from reading comics sometimes! Like having the main character acknowledge it makes it more official, it was fun working that into this game-and haha so glad the deaths are making you think hard!!! Those are so fun to write and draw for, and I'm glad they're having such an impact! No need to restart, the flowers are fine-but glad you noticed that detail, it sets the stage for the Forest and what it's like in there!
Speaking of which, I'm so glad you're paying attention to all the story details in general! And yes, the fourth game is actually coming out in just a couple weeks! Forgive the plug, but you can stay updated on what I'm working on if you follow my twitter or tumblr XD (You can also just swing by to chat, I enjoy talking to my players^^)
And sort of? The ending has to do with a very important sub plot that will be explained not all at once, but piece by piece as the story unravels throughout the games! So it will make a little more sense in the fourth game but you'll still have plenty of questions unanswered >:3c
I think I’m probably too lazy to try and find the easter eggs at this point XD Are they super important to the story, like am I missing out on something by not finding them? I’d much rather they were explained to me but I guess I could do with a hint.
I think the hardest part in this game in terms of thinking hard to like, SURVIVE, was probably the part where you have to navigate through the water and use the rocks. I don’t know why I had so much trouble there but I made Jesse drown so many times XD
Can’t wait for the next game, I look forward to learning a little more about that important sub-plot!
PS - I’m one of those rare people who isn’t on social media, but I’d totally follow you there if I was!
Don't worry, you're not missing out on much! Just little lore add-ons, if that makes sense! For your hint... try searching the trees in TWSTM! The codes are retroactive so you'll find one in the first game that you'll need to find the second game's secret and so on. (This stops at the fourth though.) And if you're not in the mood to search, you can always turn to youtube to check them out XDDD
As for the water, I think most players struggle in it so you're not alone! I was experimenting with puzzles and that one was more difficult than I intended... but congrats on beating it!
And thank you so much, I'm glad you're excited for it! I'm so close to finishing it so you won't have to wait long! (And haha no worries, I totally understand-and in fact, I respect people who stay out of social media... it can be a real life-ruiner these days if you're not careful. Still appreciate the sentiment just the same!)
The game was fun, I did fumble a bit, especially when I ran straight off the tracks. I was surprised to find I could actually fall off. The story is an interesting development, especially with the forest seeming to be a monster in itself. The ending did confuse me, I was wondering if it meant most of the events were not real, or there was something deeper happening to the character.
I feel like the game takes a step away from the horror elements, there is still the creepiness with the murders and the forest. The gameplay feels more action based, with the exploration water walking and combat, while the creepier smaller interactions are not there.
The idea of where the story could go is still interesting, I just wish the game had some more of those creepier aspects the first two had, like if the monsters had more of a role within the game.
Look forward to the next game, and see where you take what is going on within the forest.
Wow, congratulations making it all the way to the end!!! (Well, the end SO FAR... the next one will be out in just a couple weeks!) That one did have some pretty brutal sections! And haha yeah, almost everyone falls off their first time! And no worries, the ending was supposed to be jarring-but the events are all real, it's about the second one-something wrong with Jesse. And sorry to hear it didn't scare you as much, I was rushed for a game jam deadline so I had to cut a few corners... but I learned from it, and the next one will definitely deliver on the scares! That said I'm glad you're still intrigued by the story, and thank you so much for playing through all of my games! That means a lot to me, and the hard work that goes into making the videos too! Can't wait to see you again with the fourth^^
I'm really glad you enjoyed the videos! I really loved playing through the series and I am excited to see the next instalment! I'm so happy to hear the ending was there to throw the player; you've made such an intriguing universe, I'm glad you are not going the whole 'none of it was real' scenario. Ahhh I didn't realise this game was made for a game jam, it was still very good, it's just The Well Speaks to Me is simply one of my all time favourite RPGmaker horrors I've played, so you set yourself a very high bar :') Very excited to get to play #4 ^_^
I played all of your games in a single night and forgot to showcase the video here UGH. Excellent stuff and a great dev!! Cannot WAIT for the fourth one.
Thank you so much, I watched the video twice I loved it so much (once when it had just come out, but my comments were broken-and since I forgot what I was going to say, I returned to it tonight and went through it again)! Your commentary is so funny and entertaining, and you gave me some new insights on what to do to improve for future games-and what I'm already doing well! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support as well, I used it with some others just recently to get more game assets! Hope to see you again soon with my fourth game^^

Great game. I'm going to play the rest of the games in this series.
I love your series, I will play them all sure!

OMG i'm so excited!! A spooky month release!!!! AAAA!!!
You should find a drop shipping store and make merch, i would totally buy a Thornhart shirt hahaha

I'm sick too (not a reference at all), yet this game still brought me back to my senses. Wish it was longer!
You take your pills yet?
Haha but thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I will be adding sequels so even though this game is short, the story will continue!
Well, that was a lot. I think Thornhart seems pretty cool [and unwell]
10/5
Haha thank you so much XDDD I'm thrilled you enjoyed it so much, the next part is almost out and Thornhart's story is only just beginning >:3c
